First Aid Training

  • Courses are conducted by a qualified SHEQ consultant and registered with the Health and Welfare Sector Education and Training Authority 
  • Special emphasis are placed on First Aid in the bush
  • Level 1 : 16 hours / Level 2 : 22 hours
  • Both courses meet the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act,1993(Act 85 of 1993) and are registered with the Health and Welfare Sector Education and Training Authority through the South African First Aid League


  • Light lunch, coffee & tea, cold drinks
  • SAFAL Handbook Key Ring Pouch with CPR Mouthpiece
  • Exam and SAFAL Certificate (Please note: The SAFAL certificate will only be issued to candidates that have completed the assessment and were found competent)

Level 1 Course Details: Entry Requirements: Grade 9

  1. Principles of First Aid and Safety Management
  2. Emergency Scene Management
  3. Basic Anatomy
  4. Vital Signs, Primary and Secondary Examination
  5. Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation
  6. Choking
  7. Soft Tissue Injuries
  8. Shock
  9. Unconsciousness and Fainting
  10. Fractures 
  11. Burns 
  12. Head and Spinal Injuries

Level 2 Course Details: Entry Requirements: Level 1 First Aid. In addition to the topics covered in Level 1 First Aid, delegates will also complete:

  1. Joint Injuries and Rescue Transportation 
  2. Specialised Injuries: Eye, Chest, Hand, Pelvic and Abdominal 
  3. Chest Pain and Paralysis 
  4. Environmental Injuries 
  5. Multiple Injury Management 
  6. Poison, Stings and Bites 
  7. Epilepsy 
  8. Stroke 
  9. Heart Attack
